Since I'm on such a pattern roll, I thought I'd make this pants/shorts pattern available too.Originally published in March last year in Yarn Magazine, it's now available over on Ravelry too. Non Rav members can email me directly too if they'd like a copy for $5.
As with my other patterns I'm going to celebrate with yet another give away, so you've got a week to leave a comment and email address to go in the draw.

Great to see a cool knitted pattern for little surfer dudes. There are some patterns out there that are definitely not dude-worthy!
Surfer Dude Shorts were my first ever real pattern - and while knitting the crotch (is there not a nicer word?) had me in a bit of a beginner tizz, third time around I can do them with my eyes closed. The small kid around here loves them under tunics...
After all that, I have caused a possible redraw.
They do look so cool, what a great pattern. I am pretty sure that I have that Yarn issue your talking about too so perhaps I need to take another peek and find it.
Is this suitable for a beginner? I'm totally crap at knitting but would love to make some for my 2yo boy, seeing as all his pants are ill-fitting.
So might have to buy the pattern from you.
Count me in!
Sooz, I have just found out our mothers are friends, ex-neighbors and neighbors-to-be! They were talking this morning and the subject of the crafting weekend came up and so it was discovered. Look forward to meeting you on Sat!
My little surfer dude would look great in those shorts. Fantastic pattern!
Out. Standing.
Excellent photo too!!!
Hey sooz, my 18yo niece has just started to get into crafting. I'm going to point her to your patterns.

I bet I know where you were during fire drill today... a certain shop on flinders lane, perhaps?
